You can easily open the blade with one hand by using the characterizing thumb hole, also called the Spydiehole. When opened the blade is kept in place with a solid liner lock which prevents the blade from closing during use. At the same time you unlock the liner lock with one hand when you are done using the knife.

The mid sized Tenacious has a black G-10 laminate handle, milled with prolonged fatigue-free cutting in mind. Tucked inside are skeletonized steel liners increasing the handle’s rigidity and strength without adding non-functioning weight or bulky thickness.
The 8Cr13Mov stainless blade is leaf shaped and ground flat from spine to cutting edge for cutting performance. The blade’s shape coupled with an oversized Spyderco Round Hole and textured spine jimping allow you to open the blade and position your thumb on the spine in slip proof confidence ready for work. A Walker Linerlock (with jimped liner) and a four way pocket clip lets you set your carry and draw preference: Tip up and tip down left hand and right hand. Screw together construction.
8Cr13MoV –
Chinese stainless steel tempered at the Rc56 to Rc58 range and used in the Tenacious, Persistence, and Byrd lines of knives.
G10 Laminate –
The TUFNOL range of high quality epoxy resin bonded glass fabric laminates offer very high mechanical strength and low moisture absorption, combined with excellent electrical properties, under both dry and humid conditions. They are rigid materials with good dimensional stability and good resistance to a wide range of working environments.
